Service Above Self
Like all Rotary Clubs, the Rotary Club of Bali Seminyak is primarily organized to be of service to the local community and to the world.
We are proud of our Club’s long record of service. In the past five years alone, our Club has donated over US$ 70,000 (over 1 Billion IDR) and countless volunteer hours to service projects.
Just a few examples:
- Purchased and donated to date over 3700 books to the Seminyak Elementary School Library, a project that started in 2004.
- Provide to date 50 scholarships students who come from impoverished backgrounds, in coordination with the ‘Friends of National Parks Foundation’ (FNPF), a project that started in 2016.
- Rolled out a Dengue Awareness project, started in 2014 with a campaign to help protect against the mosquito transmitted viral disease. In 2016 and 2017, the Rotary Club of Bali Seminyak, being sponsored by Kasih Ibu Hospitals, published a booklet entitled ‘Fight The Bite – Dengue Fever Prevention’.
- Planned and initiated the Nusa Penida Micro Credit Goat project, to advise Nusa Penida farmers upon animal husbandry and he oversees their goat-breeding program.
- Fundraised over 1 billion Indonesian Rupiah for the ‘The Smile Foundation’ (Yayasan Senyum) to provide funding for operations and the necessary support for children and young adults, who need surgical intervention for cleft lip/palate and/or other serious craniofacial disabilities.
- Provided provide clean water to many villages on the Island of Flores Indonesia through the Otonomi Program/Water project supported by a global grant.
- Worked on a Water & Sanitation project for Putu Villages in Payangan District Bali with hygiene training for five elementary schools.
The specific projects we support continuously evolve, based on the interest of our members. Every service project begins as an idea that comes from one of our members.
