Rtns. Detlev and Lusi do it again!
Well done Rtns. Detlev and Lusi for raising Rp. 820,000.00 from your Sunday ‘Open House’ this week. This will make an annual total (so far) for this Rotary year of Rp.77,336,000.00. (Rotarians I can assure you this figure is not a typing mistake!! Last year the total was Rp. 57,973, 500.00!).
For those who did not attend this week’s Open House but who know about the regular visitors, apparently Pete ‘Tomato’ announced that he would be getting married in the next few weeks – Really!!
Rotarians, do we really appreciate the enormous amount of work (not to mention the expense) that Rtns. Detlev and Lusi undertake almost every week in order to provide food and drink for the many guests that attend their Sunday ‘Open House’. On most of those occasions Rtn. Lusi does all the cooking herself, which is no mean feat (especially when she also has a small baby to care for). And all this is done in the name of the Rotary Club of Bali, Seminyak and in support of the ‘Smile Foundation’.
And don’t forget Rotarians, on Sunday, 8th June 2014, it is the annual big ‘Open House’ event when Mariella, that famous lady from Malta, will once again be buying all the food and doing all the cooking. Her cuisine will have that distinct Mediterranean flavour that we all love so much, and there may be some bubbly too!!
Last year, over 60 people attended when there was a special cooking appearance by Mariella and Rtns. Detlev and Lusi were able with her help to raise the staggering amount of about RP. 22,000,000 for the ‘Smile Foundation.
I am told that for this year’s special occasion, there will also be a mini raffle and a quiz about Malta with prizes for the winners.
(As an event of this size needs some planning, Rtns. Detlev and Lusi would really appreciate an RSVP from those planning to attend. detlev@casamoderno.com)
Come on guys, give these dedicated Rotarians your full support and do make the effort to attend their ‘Open House’ as often as you can. I can assure you that you will have a lot of fun, and what a great way to wile away a lazy Sunday afternoon amongst friends and interesting people.
