RCBS welcomes new member Rtn. Joseph Curtin

Joe has worked at the Consular Agency in Bali since 2009 and before that for Oxfam Great Britain resettling refugees from East Timor to West Timor after Independence. He was Peace Corps Country Director for 5 years in Kyrgyzstan and evacuated his Volunteers during 9/11. Prior to that he worked as EURASIA director for Catholic Relief Services – a nonprofit – covering Europe, the Middle East and Asia, responsible for emergency relief and refugee programs: some of which were in Cambodia, Lebanon, Somalia, Iraq, Thailand, Egypt, Poland and the Philippines.  He has a Master’s degree in South East Asian studies: Economics, history and government, from Ohio University and an Associate Degree in Public Relations and Fund Raising.

He is an ‘Army brat,’ born in Ft. Devens, Massachusetts and grew up abroad and in Virginia. He is a U.S. Navy veteran, likes languages – and continues to study Indonesian. Horseback riding (dressage) and diving are sports he likes. His hobbies are reading and traveling
