Majella Tumangan- Villaroman is the Chief Business Development Officer for Mercy Health Hospital, a 99 bed destination medical and lifestyle hub based in Subic, Zambales. In parallel, she is the President and CEO of my CORD Corporation PH that offers multi language engagement through the Resiliency and Wellness Checkpoint that combines global employee assistance programs (EAPs) to my-CORDS clients. My-CORD EAP programs stay connected with the clients and take online face to face counseling, coaching, meetings and training from anywhere, or any device. From prevention to crisis, my CORD adds value to clients’ workforce by providing services that are second to none.

Moving back to the Philippines eight years ago from living in Sausalito, CA USA, Majella contributes back to the Philippines her 30 years diverse background in international health management strategy.

Some of her significant work highlights:

  • Majella served as a Lead Consultant to the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) as the Organizer of the “Global Congress on Mental Health at Work” and Contributor to the published ILO Report on “Mental health in the workplace: Introduction” and the published WHO Report “Prevention and Promotion in Mental Health”. This report redefined the meaning of Health to include mental health.
  • She served as 1 of 10 reviewers in the USA Health System Reform by Former President George W Bush and received from the Karolinska Institute the 2004 “Mental Energy at Work” award.
  • Majella has worked with governments of the Philippines in the creation of the Presidential Order for a mental health division at the Department of Health. In Thailand, she is the Lead Consultant on the “Bangkok Program for Healthy Workplace Gateway City for Europe”.
  • Majella is also the Lead Consultant for Mental Health for the Policy Advisory Office of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) on their Program Health Act (RA 11036)

She sits in the Board of APEAR (Asia Pacific Employee Assistance Roundtable) and GW4W (Global Women for Wellbeing). She is certified as an International Employee Assistance professional by APEAR and EAPA (Employee Assistance Professional Association). She has a degree in communication Arts from the University of Santo Tomas, MBA on International Entrepreneurship Management from George Washington University and from Yale on Positive Psychology. She is a Certified Life Coach and World Health Organization (WHO) Mental Health, Human Rights and Recovery Trainer.

A recipient of the 2018 Global FWN100 Most Influential Filipina in the Worlds Awards in London, UK, this award recognizes Majella’s body of work on global mental health.

For Majella’s service advocacy, she is an active Rotarian and is the Past President of the Rotary Club of Manila 101 and advances Mental Health and Agribusiness among vulnerable communities. She is the recipient of the Rotary International Presidential Citation Award, Best Rotary Club President Platinum Level. For RY 2019-2020, Majella received the “Rotarian of the Year” award. She is a Major Donor to the Rotary Foundation and top 10 in END POLIO contribution. As first daughter of RI District 3810 Past District Governor Atty Edgardo Tumangan and RC Manila 101 Charter President Tessie Tumangan and niece to Past RI Director Guiller Tumangan, Majella’s philosophy integrates service in all aspect of her life.

She is a Go Negosyo certified National Mentor and is 1 of the 100 AMEN (ASEAN Mentor Entrepreneurship Network) for the ASEAN Business Advisory Council to President Rodrigo Duterte.

Within the COVID19 crisis, she is sought after to conducts online digital seminars and trainings on “Building Resilience During Covid19 and the New Normal” and “Mental Wellbeing During the Covid19 Pandemic” READINESS.RESPONSE.RESILIENCE, highlighting the Senate of the Philippines, Philippine Overseas Labor Office OWWA South Korea, Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Seoul, Korea, the Commission on Human Rights (CHR), Rotary District 3810, Soroptomist International, to name a few.

She is married to Glen Villaroman, who is an agribusiness consultant to the Philippine Department of Agriculture Secretary William Dar.
