  • Joined Rotary in 2004
  • Water filter project in 2005
  • Club President 2005-2006 and 2020-2021
  • Assistant Governor 2021-2022

Originally from India, Sarita moved to Bali with her husband in 1979. She proudly became an Indonesian Citizen in 2006 and has lived on the magical island she and her family have called home for 40 years.

Being an entrepreneur at heart, initially she started export of hand-made shoes, garments and other handicrafts from the island of Bali to Europe and North America. In 2011, following her passion for organising events, she founded Shaadi Bali, specialising in organising Indian weddings and celebratory events in Bali.

With a deep desire for community service she joined Rotary Club of Bali Seminyak in 2004. She supported and enthusiastically participated in various community service projects of RCBS in the fields of children’s education, women’s health, sanitation and Polio vaccination. She organised a global grant for a Bio filter project in Sibang village, manufacturing and distributing 140 Bio Filters to homes in the village, alleviating rampant cases of stomach problems amongst villagers caused by unsanitary drinking water source.

She went on to serve as President of RCBS for the Rotary year 2005-2006 and once again for the year 2020-2021. The global outbreak of Covid-19 commencing in March 2020 continues to devastate Bali’s tourism reliant economy which has caused job losses and the only income source of tens of thousands of workers. She organised and implemented Hunger Allevation drive collecting food and cooking oil from participating restaurants and provision stores and distributing to the needy population on the island.

Sarita has humbly accepted the District 3420 invitation to serve as Assistant Governor 2021-2022 for section 15 assisting the District Governor with overseeing three Rotary Clubs in Bali.
