Background: As an applied microeconomist and Southeast Asia specialist by training, American Jackie Pomeroy has lived in Indonesia since 1990h when she initially took a one-year contract to work with the Indonesian Ministry of Trade. After seven years, she moved to the World Bank with acquired expertise in domestic trade. She has since undertaken assignments throughout the region and now does consultancies in rural livelihoods and community development. Jackie is a woman of many parts who has achieved legendary status among social media users via her creation of a Facebook Group focused on the eruption of Bali’s Mount Agung Volcano in September 17, which at that time she was a guest speaker at RCBS. Now she joins us again to speak about COVID-19 in Bali.
COVID-19 in Bali: Jackie collects data and her main sources of Data regarding COVID- 19 in Bali are:

- Kawalcovid19.id – Public health professionals who collect national data, make it publicly available through a Goggle drive, and present it in logical formats in social media.
- Bali Covid-19 Task Force, which consolidates data submiKed daily by the Kabupaten/Kota
- Kabupaten Covid-19 Task Force websites Indonesia’s Vaccination Program:
- All vaccines from the Government are FREE. No matter where they are dispensed.
- Phased program. Health workers first, followed by public workers, and seniors. The targets industries (i.e. Tourism), the working-age public are afterwards.
- As of April 6, 2021, average 7-day vaccination doses were 293,056 per day on a cumulative total of 13,452,610 doses.
- Supply constraints affect the vaccination rate.
- Sinovac ( 28 million + 10 million in April) and Astra Zeneca (1.1 million) brands have been used to date.
- Foreigners with a NIK number are eligible to be vaccinated based on location of residence and work, same as Indonesians.
- While the regulation enabling private provision of vaccines has been signed, the scheme is not yet operational ( few details are available). The Plan for Green Zones to Open to International Tourism
- Three initial Green Zones:
1.Ubud (Central Ubud, Petulu, Sayan, Kedewatan). 2. Sanur (Sanur Kaja, Sanur, Sanur Kauh) 3.Nusa Dua (Jimbaran, Benoa, Tanjung Benoa) - Mass vaccination in those area- ALL residents and workers.
