"Keep on Running" Rock 'n Run 2007 "The 7th Chapter"
RAISING MONEY FOR CLEFT PALATE & LIP OPERATIONS

Following the recent Four Seasons 'Hope for Life' Run, Hard Rock Hotel Bali, once again conducted its annual 'Rock 'n' Run' event - The 7th Chapter, on 21 October 2007. On this occasion, more than 300 people turned out to 'run for someone else's life.'

Registration began at 6.30am and participants were treated to a performance of traditional music by 'The Gong Company' of Hard Rock Hotel Bali.

At 7.30am, the 5 kilometre charity run was officially started by Bapak Drs. I Gede Wijaya, M.M., Camat Kuta, accompanied by Mr. Darryl Marsden, General Manager of Hard Rock Hotel Bali, with the start and finish in front of Hard Rock Hotel Bali.

The proceeds of this year's charity event will again be donated to the Rotary Club of Bali - Seminyak, with the funds being designated to help those in need of cleft lip and palate operations; to bring a smile to unfortunate children afflicted with this facial disfigurement. This is the third successive year that the proceeds are going to RCB-S and although the amount raised this year is not yet known, the total funds raised in the first two years totalled Rp.90,742,000. As was to be expected, a number of Rotarians and Rotaractors either joined in the fun or sponsored others to run and a few did both!

Sponsors for this event include Circle K, XL, CV. Massa, PT. Tunas Jaya, PT. Aljeff, The Jakarta Post, The Beat, Bali Advertiser, Media Indonesia, Hard Rock Radio Bali, Sinar Bali, PT. Tirta Investama (Aqua), Kuta Clinic and BIMC (Bali International Medical Centre).

Samgar Kamlase from Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel was the winner; closely followed by our own President-elect, Urs Klee.
