Putu, the boy I first saw on the side of the road last year who made me realise how bloody lucky we are in NZ and that I had to join a service club and tap my mates to do something for these poor kids.
Photo 1 is as he was last September.Cleft lip, cleft palate, cleft jaw and nose and bottom lip and jaw disfigured.
Photo 2 is after his first operation to fix the lip.
Photo 3 was taken in October one month after his third operation.Number 2 repaired the palate and number 3 the upper jaw.
He has no 4 in December to do more work on the jaw and lip.
Look at the last photo - a completely different boy – so much more confident and beginning to be understood – age 14!
